mountain west league rules

1. While batting and running bases, everyone must wear a helmet with ear
flaps.

2. Batting practice at the game sites will be permitted at designated areas
only, (by the home club).

3. Slide rule: If there is a play at any base or the plate, the player must
slide.  Exception: In the umpires judgment, if the defensive player is blocking
the base without the ball or the play is too far away from the base for the player
to reach with a slide.

4. There is a ten run rule that will be enforced after the trailing team has
had their fifth at bat.

5. Anyone involved in a fight may be suspended for the season, depending on
their involvement. If the umpire can determine who started it, that person is
gone for the year. If it was determined that the player was protecting himself, the
proper action will be taken by the league.

6. Absolutely no abuse of umpires will be permitted: Suspensions from one
game up to life may be placed on that coach or player.

7. The league will play by official high school rules.

8. This league is for the players, not the coaches, parents, or umpires.
Any attitudes that conflict with this philosophy are unacceptable.

9. Protests must be made in writing within 24 hours of the completion of
the game being protested. Umpires need to be told of the protest before the next

protest.  All decisions of the protest committee will be final. The $100 in cash on
all denied protests will be donated to the travel fund.

Keith as soon as possible on all unplayable fields. If you are the home team and

to be played at the earliest available date to keep the league from backing
up at the end.
