The
MountainWest Baseball Association has announced its new top player list
for the 2008 season. The long anticipated lists include the top players
from each class of 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 in the state of Utah as compiled
by the MWBA staff. Most players have been observed by the MW professional
staff of evaluators (which includes full time professional scouts and
college coaches) from recommendations from other professional scouts and
college recruiters. Recommendation forms are also past out to all the Utah high school
coaches to offer candidates for consideration. Most of these players are
participants in the MW Prospect Games, Junior Olympics, or Fall Scout
Teams but do not have to be to make the list. We understand the
difficulty in ranking and listing young players but it does provide a
look at most the area's top prospects and is designed to inspire players
and promote the game to all players. We understand that we may have
overlooked a few players. New lists will be done in the spring or summer
in all classes.
We understand players develop and progress at different rates. The overall
future potential of the player is given the most weight not necessarily
the best player now. Players can be recommended for consideration by
sending an email to bkrd@hotmail.com. Enjoy the lists as it took many
hours of work to compile the information. Rely on the MWBA for baseball
information found no where else.
